It was an immense honor to meet with Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in Kyiv. Often regarded as one of Vladimir Putin’s most wanted adversaries and a cornerstone of Ukraine’s defence strategy, Mr. Budanov leads highly effective intelligence operations that have significantly impacted Russia’s aggression.
During our meeting, I conveyed Kosovo’s heartfelt support for Ukraine’s courageous fight for freedom. The resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people in the face of unprecedented challenges serve as an inspiration to the world. I also shared Kosovo’s aspirations for fostering even stronger bonds of friendship with Ukraine and its people.
Mr. Budanov expressed his deep appreciation for Kosovo’s solidarity and the military support extended to Ukraine. He also commended Kosovo for standing firm against Putin’s destructive ambitions in the Balkans, highlighting our shared commitment to resisting tyranny and promoting peace and stability.
This meeting underscored the importance of international cooperation and mutual support in the face of global challenges. As Kosovo and Ukraine continue to build their partnership, the values of freedom, sovereignty, and resilience will remain at the heart of our shared endeavors.
